This is another superb mid-16th-century silver-gilt devotional medallion of the Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World), cast by the Renaissance medallist and sculptor Nickel Milicz. The medal depicts a profile portrait of Jesus Christ, the legend reads as "SALVATOR MVNDI CHRISTI MISERER" Saviour of the World Christ have mercy on us / Reverse of the medallion bears a representation of the Lamb of God, Agnus Dei, with banner. The legend reads as "AGNVS DEI QVI TOLLIS EGTN MVNDI" Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. The medal has an integral cast frame, likely once enameled and decorated with pearls.
