This is a nice Jacobean period silver finger ring, dating to the early 17th century. The outer band is decorated with a continuous twisted rope-like motif, similar to that found on early 17th century posy rings (giving us a more refined date). Recorded rings employing this type of band have been found in Cambridgeshire (SF-3A8B11) and Devon (SOM-823925).
