This is an ancient Roman silver Siliqua of emperor Gratian dating to 367 - 375 AD.

VIRTVS ROMANORVM, Roma seated facing on throne, looking left, holding Victory on globe and spear, left leg bare

This coin was minted between the years 367 - 375 A.D. at Treveri (Trier, Germany), mintmark TRPS. It had traveled across the English Channel, being buried in the Thruxton Hoard. This coin was purchased directly from the finder after being disclaimed by the British Museum.
