Renaissance Agate Cameo Ring of Hercules

This is a wonderful Renaissance period cameo ring, dating to the late 16th - 17th century. The solid 18k gold ring is set with a nicely sculpted bust of Hercules wearing the Nemean Lion Skin. The gem is cut utilizing the curved natural layers of the stone, with the portrait undercut and nicely polished. The ring is in excellent condition, perfectly wearable today and makes a great statement piece.
