This is a wonderful 18k gold Baroque jeweled finger ring, dating to the late 17th century. The ring is set with an emerald gemstone, simply polished from the Muzo mines of Columbia. The bezel is decorated with fleur type cusps, the shoulders as a blossoming flower, possibly a thistle. The ring bears a town mark of a rampant lion. This is an excavated ring, thus has a few dints from its time in the ground. The emerald has a few fissures and a chip also a crack on the ring from being worn, none of the marks or damage effect it from being worn and should only be considered battle scars from a long and active life.
