This is a rather jolly Georgian gold posy ring, dating to the mid 18th century. The inside of the band is inscribed "Win it and wear it". It bears a makers mark of 'WG' in Gothic lettering for William Garrard of London. This mark is dated from 1735 - 1740. The ring is in excellent condition, originally a detector find from Suffolk. Today this ring would make a choice and unique wedding band!
