This is a Tudor silver sixpence of Queen Elizabeth, minted in London in 1581.
Obverse inscription: ELIZABETH: D G'. ANG' FR ET HI REGINA ( "Elizabeth, by the Grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland") Crowned bust left, rose behind, mintmark
Reverse inscription: POSVI DEV' ADIVTOREM MEV ("I have made God my helper") Square topped shield quartered by long cross fourchee dividing legend, date above. 1581.
