This is an ancient Scandinavian silver bracelet, dating to the 8th - 10th century A.D. The bracelet is formed from a rod of silver, the ends hammered to form spayed terminals. It is decorated with punched annulets and pointillé work, though the decorative design is quite worn. This type of bracelet was popular throughout the Scandinavian Iron-Age, being found in treasure hoards and as single losses. This example is in excellent condition with good metal, so likely once kept in a hoard deposit or a river find.
