This is a medieval silver denier of Prince Edward, as Duke of Aquitaine. This coin was minted at Bordeaux, for use in the Duchy of Aquitaine. Prince Edward later became King Edward Ist of England (aka Longshanks) after his father King Henry III died in 1272.
