This is a nice medieval silver finger ring, dating to the 14th - 15th century A.D. The delicate 'D' shaped band is undecorated, with the main design on the bezel. This is in the form of a bearded Saint's head and shoulders, the halo is visible but much of the detail has worn. This type of band was likely purchased on pilgrimage, worn as the later iconographic type rings, for personal devotion and contemplation. This example is in good excavated condition, intact and wearable.
