This is a nice Anglo Saxon silver penny of King Æthelred II, minted at Exeter by the moneyer BYRNSTAN.ON.EAX. It is a full round example, with bite marks, peck marks and wrinkles from circulation within Viking held territories. This coin was found in Finland, so likely traveled back as Danegeld or war booty.
