Renaissance silver-gilt finger ring with sapphire glass gemstone

This is a Renaissance silver-gilt finger ring, dating to the 16th century A.D.  The ring is set with the original sapphire blue glass gemstone, held within the rubbed bezel. It retains traces of the original gold gilding, with decoration on the bezel and band. A great looking finger ring in excellent wearable condition.
