This is a late Renaissance silver signet ring, dating to the early 17th century A.D. The ring is engraved with a cross, with a set of initials C.H. below. It retains traces of an old museum or collector inventory number inside of the band (308). Such a ring would have been owned and worn by a merchant or cleric, used to seal transactions and letters. Today the ring has survived in excellent and wearable condition.
