This is a delightful Saxon pale gold/electrum finger ring, dating to the 7th - 10th century A.D. It is of a classic turreted design, set with the original dark glass gemstone. The ring has a simple hoop, attached to a turreted bezel decorated with a cable twist design. The material as pale gold, also known as electrum and popular in Scandinavian countries during this period. Today this wonderful ring has survived in excellent wearable condition, ideal as a unique wedding ring for contemporary wear.
