This is an excavated medieval bronze seal matrice, dating to the 14th century. The seal is cut with an intricate design of an elaborate cusped circle, as found in Gothic tracery. The central object is difficult to make out but maybe a bowl with the head of John the Baptist. The name of the original owner is engraved in Lombardic script around, again difficult to make out as it is very worn. A good and original medieval seal, worthy of further research.
