Baroque gold and diamond drop pendant

This is a wonderful Baroque gold and diamond drop pendant, dating to the late 17th - 18th century. The pendant is set with a central table cut diamond, flanked with three senaille diamonds. Above the pendant formed as two spanderls growing organically from a central flower, set with a dark red faceted ruby. The flower turns to give sparks from the gem. The back of the pendant is formed as suspension ring, to enable to jewel to be worn on a chain. This is a nicely designed and well formed Holbeinesque jewel, of the type worn at court by fashionable ladies of the Court.
