This is a Saxon silver penny of King Æthelred II, minted at Canterbury by the moneyer LEOFRIC (+LEOFRIC.MO.CENT). It is an excellent example with good clear details and well struck. The obverse displays some test marks, indicative of circulation within Viking territory. It was found in Estonia and thus likely traveled back as booty or ransom by a Viking warrior!
