This is a nice Scandinavian Viking silver finger ring, dating to the 10th - 12th century A.D. The ring is formed from rods of silver twisted together, each then braided to form the knotted bezel. The band of the ring is 'D' section, welded to the braided ends and hammered together to form a solid round hoop. One of the twisted wires has snapped on the bezel, it is still solid and unlikely to cause any issues with the stability of the ring. An interesting and wearable ancient ring in excavated condition, the silver is good and can be cleaned if desired.
