This is an interesting Tudor period gold and rock crystal pendant, dating to the 16th - 17th century. This item was found with a metal detector in Halland (East Sussex) recorded as SUSS-0262EF. This item has been studied by several experts, the consensus is this pendant may have been used as a reliquary or decorative jewel in the shape of a scent bottle. It has lain buried in the ground for centuries and as such has suffered from some slight damage and loss of the enamel. Still a rare and desirable object.
