Georgian gold wedding band initials and makers mark

SOLD

Code: 11188

This is a nice Georgian gold wedding ring, dating to the early to mid 18th century. The inside of the band is inscribed with initials, likely of the married couple. The initials are laid out in the manner one finds on plates and coffers from the late 17th century with the initials are husband and wife. It reads as T.P.M.S the P likely the ladies initial, with the M or S being the surname. It bears a makers mark of 'BD' in Gothic lettering, in use by goldsmiths from the 1730's and 1740's - this exact one I am unable to trace. A great antique wedding ring that can still be enjoyed and worn again today!
