This is a charming Renaissance period silver-gilt brooch, dating to the 16th - 17th century A.D. The design is quite complex, with a pair of love birds sitting in a treetop, below are three hanging loops either for a chain or pearl drops. The pin is intact and still works. A nice item that can still be gifted and worn again today! Originally this brooch was found in a cache of jewellery (during renovation work) mainly dating to the late 16th and early 17th centuries (see the last photo)
