Medieval Gold & Sapphire Finger Ring

This is a nice medieval gold finger ring, dating to the 14th - 15th century. It is set with the original sapphire gemstone, enclosed within a cusped setting. The bezel a little asymmetric due to the irregular shape of the sapphire. A similar example has been recorded from Cambridgeshire (CAMHER-961244). A good medieval ring that is secure and wearable.
