This is a wonderful example of a gold posy ring, dating to the early18th century. The ring is inscribed "I joy in thee joy thou in me" a sentiment not recorded in Evans. It bears a very faint makers mark of JE in gothic script (worn or weakly struck). A nice ring that would have been worn as a wedding band, can be worn again today.
