A rare Carolingian gold ring, Central Europe, 8th/9th century A.D. The bezel set with five turrets each to hold a gemstone or glass pastes (now missing). The hoop of the ring is plain and attached to the hollow box bezel. The ring a very accomplished piece for the collector!
