Portrait miniature of a lady in a white dress and blue stole and pink lace choker tied in a bow at the nape of her neck, her dark upswept hair falling in a curl over her left shoulder. This superb painting is by Jeremiah Meyer c. 1770. It is set in the original 18k gold frame, with a lock of hair woven into a lover's knot and pinned with a gold set of initials C.F. Such a portrait may have been gifted between lovers as the lack of mourning sentiment (pearls, black enamel, etc) would suggest this. It has had a few repairs to the locket over the centuries but is intact and very nice!
