Renaissance gold and table cut ruby finger ring

This is a delightful Renaissance gold finger ring, dating to the 16th century. The ring is intact and in excavated condition, it retains the original table cut ruby gemstone in a cusped bezel. See NMS-0D2960, LEIC-734E08, Oman (1974, pl.26, a, b and pl.27, b) for further discussion.
