This is a fabulous Georgian gold posy ring, dating to the 18th century. The inside of the band is inscribed "Vertue and loue are from aboue" (Virtue and love are from above). It bears a makers mark of 'T.F' for Thomas Folkingham of London. who bore this mark in 1721. The ring is in excavated condition, originally a detector find from Cambridgeshire.
