Medieval bronze seal of Fauber with an eagle device

SOLD

Code: 11412

This is a medieval bronze seal, dating to the 14th century. It is nicely cut with a device of an eagle with outstretched wings. The legend is neatly inscribed in a Lombardic script, reading as "+ S ' FAVBER . DALBASANHA . DVECHA" This names "Fauber" and "DVECHA" Deutsch German?  It requires further study. Sadly the suspension loop is missing from the back. The seal is missing the suspension ring on the back. A good excavated seal with a nice olive-green patina, requires further research.
