This is a superb Renaissance gold finger ring, dating to the 16th - early 17th century. The ring is intact and in excellent condition, it retains the original table-cut rock crystal gem, cut and set in such a way as to resemble a diamond. The bezel is sculpted like a bulb of a flower, with the shoulders having an acanthus shape design. It is a very accomplished piece of goldsmiths art, expertly crafted and finished. This example is all original and untouched from being a European metal detector find.
