A European Bronze Age spearhead with an elegant, leaf-shaped ridged blade and round socket. The short socket has been pierced by two lateral peg-holes for attachment to a wooden shaft. Spearheads of this type are more commonly found in the territories of Northern Europe and Britain and were used throughout the Late Bronze Age. This example is intact but in three pieces and expertly conserved and reattached with a wooden rod that passes inside the shaft. All original and rare with a nice patina.
