A copper-alloy mount dating to the Late Iron Age. The mount is oval in plan and concave. It is decorated with incised features of a face, including eyes, a nose, and a mouth. The back is plain so may have been attached to a leather scabbard or mounted in a wooden plinth symbolic of the Celtic "Head Cult". Such objects were often used as votive offerings to the gods and placed in watery places, wells, and sacred springs.
