This is a rather charming Renaissance gold and enamel finger ring, dating to the late 15th - 16th century. It is decorated with six panels of enamel in a floral design, these are separated with a pierced tendril. The band is delicate and likely intended for a lady to wear. During this period rings were worn on all the joints of the finger, this example easily fitting the last joint on a lady's hand. The ring is excavated and in good wearable condition.
