This is a nice example of a Tudor posy ring, dating to the 16th or early 17th century. The ring is inscribed "BE TRWE NI HART" misspelt for "BE TREW IN HART". A variant of this inscription is recorded by Joan Evans in the 1596 Harleian manuscript, and there are a number of versions of it in the British Museum, see AF 1213 (Dalton 1912, no. 1132). This is a good example, intact and wearable.
