A British barbed and tanged flint arrowhead dating from the Early Bronze Age, i.e. ca. 2150-1500BC. The arrowhead has been knapped from a light pale flint. It was manufactured using a number of different techniques, including direct and indirect percussion, as well as pressure/ripple flaking which can be seen on both surfaces. It is symmetrical in shape and undamaged. Both the sides of the arrowhead have been retouched to create sharp edges.A superb and original arrowhead in excellent condition.
This arrowhead is similar to the group described as Sutton A (example d) in Green(1980: p122) 'Flint Arrowheads of the British Isles'.
