This is a medieval silver penny of King Henry III, struck at the Bury St. Edmunds mint between 1250 - 1272 AD. The Moneyer who struck the coin was called Ion, his name and mint are found on the reverse of the coin. ION ON SEINTED (ION OF SAINT EDMUNDS).
