This is an ancient Roman silver denarius, of Emperor Macrinius, minted in Rome between 217 - 218 AD.
Obverse: IMP CM OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG, "Supreme commander (Imperator), Caesar, Marcus Opellius Severus Macrinus, emperor (Augustus)" Bust of Macrinus, laureate, cropped bearded, draped, cuirassed, right.
Reverse: SECVRITAS TEMPORVM, "Time of security" Securitas standing facing, head left, leaning on a column to right and holding sceptre.
This is a superb coin, well struck and with a strong and bold portrait of this soldier emperor, easily EF.
