A superb Georgian silver 1/2 pint tankard by John Langland, hallmarked for Newcastle 1759. Of plain baluster form with a looped and crested handle and raised on a spreading circular foot. It is also marked 'WR' beneath a crown, this denotes the tankard to have been made to the pre-Imperial (William III) Ale Standard measure. The marks are clear. In very good, clean condition. Superficial surface bruising and a couple of dings but very smart in appearance and perfectly usable today!
