William the Conqueror PAXS penny by Lifword of Southwark

This is a rare Norman silver penny of King William Ist (The Conqueror), struck at the Southwark mint by the moneyer Lifword. "LIFPORD ON SUÐE" This coin was minted between 1066 - 1087 AD. This coin is nicely toned, it may have come from the Beaworth find of 1833. This was a Hoard of some 8,000-12,000 silver English pennies and cut halfpennies (of which 6,282 were recorded), found in a leaden box, near the Manor House, Beauworth, Hants. RARE
