A good Georgian silver tankard by George Smith (II) hallmarked for London 1780. Large George III sterling silver mug/tankard of tapering cylindrical form, the plain body to flattened handle with thumbpiece, Full silver hallmarks. Lion passant: sterling silver. Crowned leopard's head: London. Date letter e: 1780. Silversmith's mark: G.S for George Smith (II). This tankard holds just under a pint. In excellent condition, a good useable Georgian silver tankard.
