This is a fabulous hardstone cameo brooch of the goddess Diana. The gem has been beautifully sculpted on a three-layer sardonyx, with great depth and stereoscopic rendering. She has a delicate yet determined face, crowned with her lunar crescent. A prize gem from a Grand Tour.
