This is a medieval silver penny of King Edward Ist of England, struck at the Bristol Mint between 1280 - 1281 AD.

Obverse:  + –ĄDW R' ΛNGL' DNS hYB (Edward King of England Lord of Ireland) Legend around crowned facing portrait within inner beaded circle.

Reverse:  VILLA BRISTOLLIE (Town of Bristol) Long cross pattée, trefoil of pellets in angles, mint name around.
